November 4, 2024 — mHail is looking for Postdocs!

The Mobile Health and Adaptive Interventions Lab is seeking 1-2 postdoctoral fellows to join our team at the University of Michigan, where we have several NIH-funded clinical trials developing and evaluating digital/mHealth technologies to address suicide risk (see Research/Publications page for more about our work). We are recruiting through both the child (primary mentor: Dr. Ewa Czyz) and adult (primary mentor: Dr. Adam Horwitz) tracks of the APA-accredited Michigan Medicine/VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System (MICHMED/VAAAHS) Clinical Psychology Consortium. For more information and information on applying, click here. In your cover letter, please clearly specify Dr. Czyz and/or Dr. Horwitz as your primary research mentor. Postdoctoral fellows participate in a core curriculum, evidence-based clinical training, and mentored clinical research. If you’re interested in working with intensive longitudinal data (e.g., EMA, passive sensing) and/or development of adaptive mobile interventions for reducing suicide risk, please reach out to us at mhail.research@umich.edu for more details and to get in touch with the Principal Investigators! Applications are due December 2.

July 26, 2024 Notice of Award for Dr. Czyz's R01!

We are pleased to share that Dr. Czyz's R01, "Effectiveness of text-based support for parents of suicidal adolescents following emergency department visits" has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health. This 4-year project will provide parents of suicidal adolescents with an adaptive text-based intervention combining adolescent-centered (i.e., encouraging parental engagement in suicide prevention activities to promote youth safety) and parent-centered (i.e., encouraging self-care strategies for parent's own stress) messages with an embedded microrandomized trial (MRT). This 4-year project formally begins on August 1st, 2024.
